Path and Inspiration
I hand build ceramic objects that are sculptural, playful, and quirky. They are often constructed from slip-cast components, exploring the many ways that a few simple shapes can be combined and enhanced to give a diverse range of outcomes. Their aim is to be thought provoking and joyful.Process and Practice
I had a successful career in engineering and commerce. A few years ago and for no apparent reason I became obsessed with ceramics and sculpture. So, I gave up work and did a Ceramics HND at Morley College (2022) and now spend my days working in a studio.
My work is all hand-built, carved, constructed from slip-cast components or slabs. Having a scientific background, I am constantly experiment with form and technique, and am intrigued by geometric shapes.
