Path and Inspiration
I began my pottery career with a ceramics evening class while working in graphic and interior design studios. In 2014 I started an apprenticeship with Helen Beard and have worked in ceramics ever since.
I am influenced by the clean, calm lines of Japanese ceramics and I decorate my pots with sometime intricate patterns inspired by mark making in textiles and print making.
Process and Practice
I work in wheel-thrown porcelain, sometimes altered, and make both decorative and functional pieces.
I decorate my pots in traditional blue and white, usually using an underglaze pen to draw intricate patterns freehand onto the pot. I then finish my pots with a transparent glossy glaze.
