Path and Inspiration
I began my pottery career with a ceramics evening class while working in graphic and interior design studios. In 2014 I started an apprenticeship with Helen Beard and have worked in ceramics ever since.
I am influenced by the clean, calm lines of Japanese ceramics and I decorate my pots with sometime intricate patterns inspired by mark making in textiles and print making.Process and Practice
I work in wheel-thrown porcelain, sometimes altered, and make both decorative and functional pieces.I decorate my pots in traditional blue and white, usually using an underglaze pen to draw intricate patterns freehand onto the pot. I then finish my pots with a transparent glossy glaze.
