Path and Inspiration
I was born in London, England in 1970 to Anglo-Portuguese parents my childhood was shared
between England and Portugal, finalizing my studies in England.
I continued my passion for drawing throughout my travels in America, Central America, Turkey
and the Middle East. Settling in Israel for 10 years I apprenticed in woodwork and then glass
painting and fusing, I returned to live permanently in Portugal in 2005.Working full time with
ceramic sculpture from 2008.Process and Practice
In my work and life I am deeply inspired by the nature that is immediately surrounding me reflecting natural coloration of the fauna and flora in my pieces which range from decorative to functional.Taking each subject and learning its form by touch is an important process. On my human forms.I focus on the volumes and shapes capturing the strong fertility of female and male ,maintaining a uniform palette of glazes to accentuate this.I use stoneware clay wood firing to 1280ºc.
