Path and Inspiration
I studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and am also a cardiac nurse. I began experimenting with clay and enjoy designing pieces which have good design and simplicity at their heart. My work has a modern, rustic style and is made to enhance the every day. I want my pieces to speak of the worn and organic shapes of the natural world.
Process and Practice
I hand build using a variety of methods. I want each piece to have its own character and retain the tactile nature of the clay itself. Large areas of each piece is left unglazed this is juxtaposed against the glossy but natural colours of the glazes. My palette has been carefully selected so the different colours compliment each other and can be mixed and matched.
