Path and Inspiration
I enjoyed a nursing career as second choice to the arts and eventually achieved a B A in ceramic and glass in. I am happy on the potters wheel.I am inspired by the human shapes and the quirkiness of our language also I like making animals, in fact I like making all sort of clay things as clay is so tactile and relaxing. I am very lucky to be asked to make several commissions. I often decide on waking up what I will make on that day,as I like to try different methods.Process and Practice
I like the process of throwing and altering the clay once thrown.I enjoy colours, I tend to use under-glazes followed by a clear glaze. I use the quirkiness of the English language on my figures. In 2020 I was invited to take part in "Home is where the art is" on BBC1 which was very successful for me and turned my ceramics to making very personal busts of clients which I named "my life" as it shows personal things they enjoy.Learning never stops so I will make something different & functional.
