Path and Inspiration
My work draws from found sources, and memories, blending Information from the past and present, using found images from books, internet and film.
I sponge up the world around me. I am seeking to give a visceral experience to the viewer and handler; I hope to make work that is as free and unique as a freshly dug up pot.
My practice is founded in the need for freedom to process and create it all endlessly, in an attempt to help me make sense of the world.Process and Practice
Both Formal and personal training has enriched my work and I utilise a range of building techniques, including throwing, coiling, and hand building.
Using slips and glazes to create the complex textures and tones for each surface. Currently I am exploring reduction techniques in my Raku kiln, and using coloured oxides and slips to create colours that can only occur from the chemical reactions during my firing process. My goal is to produce work that has its own quality and life.
