Sogetsu School of Ikebana London Branch – Talk & Demonstration

An exciting collaboration event in September will be launched at this talk. In September, LP members will work with a Sogetsu Ikebana London Branch member to create an arrangement together using the paired up LP member’s vessel.

This talk in May will be an introductory talk and demonstration, so that London Potters members can learn about the art. This is the first out of two events where the art of Ikebana meets ceramics.

We are delighted that Kaoru Furukawa, Director of Sogetsu School of Ikebana London Branch (SSILB) will be kicking off the event with a talk about their organisation, about Ikebana, and it’s relationship with ceramics. The talk will be followed by demonstration arrangements by Mrs Irene Moore, Chartered member of SSILB. The arrangements reflect the personality of the arranger and their mindset at that time.

At the end of the event, London Potters will unveil information on a second in-person event to take place on 23^rd September 2023, about an exciting collaboration between SSILB & London Potters members.

About our host: Kaoru Furukawa is the director of Sogetsu School of Ikebana London Branch (SSILB) since August 2022. Kaoru met Sogetsu in London and have practiced it for 15 years.
