I describe my figurative ceramics as ‘illustration in clay’.
Inspirations include fairy tales and myths, childhood memories, observations and imaginings. Usually the work carries a loose narrative which is open to interpretation.
I hand build using stoneware clay, oxides and under glazes, embellishing with nickel chrome wire and gold leaf.
