Path and Inspiration
We are Maree and Paul Allitt aka MAPMAP™. We’ve worked together on our creative projects and designs since art school in Portsmouth. We like to think our designs are contemporary, fun and colourful with a touch of Mid-Century style.
We worked for many years at Kettle’s Yard house and gallery in Cambridge so its close association with British Modernism and the St Ives School tempers our oldest influences like John Clappison’s designs for Hornsea Pottery.Process and Practice
Handmade in our Cambridge studio our slab-built porcelain ceramics are decorated using stencils and flat slip colours. In the final firing some areas are glazed making a contrast of matt and gloss surfaces and giving each piece an attractive tactile quality.
