This is the first out of two events where the art of Ikebana meets ceramics. We are delighted that Kaoru Furukawa, Director of Sogetsu School of Ikebana London Branch (SSILB) will be kicking off the event with a talk about Ikebana. The talk will be followed by demonstration arrangements by Mrs Irene Moore, Chartered member of SSILB.

State of Clay is offering 2 x two hour workshops to throw miniature porcelain pots with slip decoration for 20 attendees on the 20th May 2023. This includes a talk, demonstration and practical work on mini wheels. Attendees may make between three to six pots during the two hour session. Attendees will receive finished pots which are fired to 1260C 1 - 2 weeks after the workshop.

In this workshop, attendees will be sculpting a small figure. Attendees will learn about basic body proportions and how these change with age, how to make an armature out of drinking straws to cheat at getting these proportions right.
This specialist walk will take place on the north bank of the Thames at Westminster with a focus on the Lambeth potteries on the south bank and the works of Henry Doulton, a titan of industrial ceramics.
Following the talk on the 13th May, we are delighted to announce the collaboration event with Sogetsu Ikebana London Branch (SILB). Fifteen London Potters members will have an opportunity to pair up with a SILB member to explore and make a container for an arrangement during August/September and then exhibit their arrangement on the 23rd September 2023.
This is the London Potters Annual General Meeting. All members are invited. We have endeavored to make this an informative and enjoyable networking event for our members. In addition to the formal proceedings, the event includes a keynote speaker, demonstration and social drinks.
