Path and Inspiration
I trained at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts which was quickly followed with exhibitions in Covent Garden, Knightsbridge and New York.
After a 35 year break, I returned to ceramics ,making vessels in clay. The inspirations for my work come from our forefather's simple organic forms and coiled vessels. My asymmetric vessels are made by coiling, but with a modern twist.Process and Practice
They are made in small series and are one-offs, each one slightly different due to my hand building methods. The making process takes a long time as each piece is hand built using coils and slabs. I use an earthenware clay and I have developed my own glazes and colours for my work to accentuate the form. Pieces are fired to 1100 C.
